Clarington Volunteers, developed by the Municipality of Clarington, will provide opportunities for residents to connect with volunteer opportunities offered by local community organizations.

Access to this service is free for both organizations and volunteers.

The priority of the site is for organizations and services located in or serving Clarington and its residents. Organizations and services outside of Clarington that serve residents in our municipality may also be considered (i.e. within Durham Region).Opportunities located outside of Clarington but within Durham Region are limited to 5 opportunities per organization. 

To register for an organization account with Clarington Volunteers, organizations must meet the following:

  • Be a community based organization or service provider AND
    • Be a non-profit OR
    • Offer services that are not otherwise provided by staff OR
    • Be a government based organization, program or committee OR
    • Be a publicly funded institution: libraries, museums, hospitals, schools OR
    • Be a direct service provider within the Municipality (i.e. BIA, CBOT, Older Adult Service Providers, etc.) OR
    • Be an organization that serves the community (i.e. service clubs, social clubs, etc.) AND
  • Organizations must be non-political, non-partisan and not religious in nature. Religious organizations will be eligible if the volunteer opportunity is for a program or service that benefits the broader community and does not involve religious teachings and/or is not generating revenue for the organization.

The Municipality of Clarington reserves the right to reject any posting, user or organization that the Municipality has adequate reason to believe may spread hatred or be hurtful to the well-being of individuals, groups or the community as a whole. Records may be removed from the database if there is the belief that any of the following happens: the advertised opportunity did not happen, fraud, misrepresentation, discrimination, or criminal activities.  Organizations or users with complaints lodged against them with any regulatory body or other users in the database may be suspended pending investigation or removed if deemed warranted. 

Guidelines can be updated at any time and without prior notice. Endorsement by the Municipality of Clarington for the programs or services listed is not implied by participation on this site. Site administrators for Clarington Volunteers will check the database periodically. All records are updated on an annual basis and in the interim when changes are required.
