Join our exciting new group as a Tech Tutor at Bowmanville Library and earn valuable volunteer hours while helping others! We're seeking enthusiastic youth in grades 9 to 12 to provide one-on-one tech support to library patrons of all ages.

This could include guiding others through personal devices, navigating online basics, and building their overall digital confidence. As a Tech Tutor with CLMA, you'll sharpen your teaching and leadership skills, gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment, and contribute to bridging the digital divide in our community.

Mondays from 3:30pm-5:00pm from January 19-March 2, 2026

Volunteer: Community Museum Gardens Volunteer

Under the direction of the Manager of Heritage Services (or designate), volunteers will provide garden maintenance up to three days per week.

Duties:

Watering all flower beds and potted plants (hanging baskets, window boxes, urns) Cleaning up litter Digging, planting and weeding flower beds and borders Pruning shrubs Checking the health of plants by identifying any pests or diseases Maintaining high levels of presentation Cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment Maintaining the Memorial Rose Garden

Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years of age. Volunteer must provide a current Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records Check. Punctuality, attention to detail, cooperativeness and adherence to safety guidelines are imperative. Must be willing and able to do physical work and/or lifting items weighing up to 20lbs. Dress code and other professional standards must be adhered to. Confidentiality expected. Professional gardening experience is ideal, but volunteers must have some gardening experience.

Additional Details:

Volunteers will book their weeks of work in advance for the gardening season.

Depending on weather, volunteers may not be needed every scheduled day.

Must have own transportation.

Must be able to work well independently, with other volunteers and the public.

CSA approved steel toe boots are required to be worn while volunteering in the gardens.

This opportunity runs May-October, for selected weeks. Shift times are flexible but must take place Mondays to Saturdays between 9 am - 4 pm.
