Who We Are
Our mission is to supply life’s most basic need...food! In 1995, a group of community leaders and concerned citizens identified community support for those who required food assistance in Clarington East.
What We Do
Clarington East Food Bank (CEFB) provides food assistance to those living within Newcastle, Orono, Newtonville, Kendal and Kirby. Relying entirely on contributions from local citizens, businesses, and community partners; we support approximately 120 families in our region, with non-perishable food items, diapers, formula, and toiletries. We offer a shopping style food bank which promotes dignity and choice for our Neighbours. There are 5 different volunteer roles including volunteer shopper (who works directly with our Neigbours), food sorter, Kitchen assistant, greeter, and floater.
