Volunteers are needed to assist in the following areas from May until September (or longer):

- Encouraging members to participate in physical fitness, such as walking, working out at Planet Fitness, outdoor time and activities at a nearby park
- Facilitate workshops for the members, including money management, planned cooking classes, crafts, book club, and indoor games at the Clarington Project (card & board games, pool, air hockey) or provide assistance during these workshops & other facilitated activities such as drumming circle, yoga, muay thai
- Teach a skill or hobby that interests you, and spark interest in your hobby in the members of the Clarington Project
- Cooking, service and clean up of hot lunch on Thursdays
- Facilitating snack bar (mornings and afternoons)
Volunteers are able to work around their own schedules in order to assist at the Clarington Project. Schedules will be determined once volunteer orientation has been completed.
ALL people applying to volunteer with Community Living Oshawa/Clarington are required to complete a Police Records Check for the Vulnerable Sector, along with a volunteer orientation and reference check.
Those wanting to volunteer as drivers must also provide CLOC with a driver’s abstract, proof of G license, and valid automobile insurance. CLOC recommends that people volunteering who prefer to use their own vehicle have liability insurance of $2 million or more.
