Purpose:
To assist with events throughout the year. Events include Walk A Mile In Her Shoes (June), Take Back The Night (September), Dinner & Auction (May), Downtown Bowmanville events and festivals, pre & post Christmas preparation (December & January). This position is eligible for high school community hours.
Responsibilities:
**will vary depending on event and location
- help with set-up and take-down of event or booth
- engage with visitors/participants, talk about and promote Bethesda House programs
- assist with other duties as needed such as registration
- work as part of a professional team alongside other event volunteers and Bethesda House staff
- treat volunteering as you would a paid job with respect, promptness, respectable clothing and positive attitude
Qualifications:
Attention to detail, interest in learning, ability to move reasonably-sized boxes, help set-up/take-down of tents and tables, dependability, ability to understand directions in English, willingness to learn and accept supervision and direction, willingness to accept and work with people of diverse backgrounds.
Training for this position will be provided and support will always be available throughout. This position is eligible for high school community hours.
Dress Code:
Casual and comfortable, appropriate for work to be completed. Flat, closed-toes shoes.
