Position Overview: We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Radio Show Editor to join our dynamic team. The Editor will play a crucial role in shaping and refining the content that airs on our station. This position requires a keen ear for audio quality, strong editorial judgement, and the ability to work collaboratively with on-air talent and production staff. Key Responsibilities: Content Editing: Edit audio recordings for clarity, coherence, and quality, ensuring that all content meets broadcast standards and aligns with the station’s guidelines. Programming Coordination: Collaborate with producers, hosts, and reporters to select and structure content for various programs, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with the station’s goals. Quality Control: Review and approve final versions of audio segments before they are broadcast, addressing any issues related to sound quality, pacing, and content accuracy. Creative Input: Contribute to the creative process by suggesting improvements and innovative ideas for content presentation and format. Technical Management: Oversee the technical aspects of audio editing, including the use of editing software and equipment, and troubleshoot any technical issues that arise. Audience Engagement: Engage with listener feedback and ratings to gauge the effectiveness of content and make adjustments as needed to enhance listener satisfaction. Compliance: Ensure all content complies with legal regulations, copyright laws, and the station’s policies and standards. Team Collaboration: Work closely with the production team to maintain a smooth workflow and achieve production deadlines. Qualifications: Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of audio quality. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team Creativity: A creative approach to problem-solving and content enhancement, with a passion for delivering engaging and impactful programming. Time-management: Ability to manage multiple priorities and complete assigned tasks according to set deadlines Non-essentials (assets) Previous experience in audio editing, preferably within a radio broadcasting environment or similar media setting would be an asset Experience with audio editing software (e.g., Reaper, Adobe Audition, Pro Tools) and familiarity with broadcast equipment and technology would be a asset Educational background in Communications, Media Studies, Journalism, or a related field would be a asset
