Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and creative Radio Show Producer to join our team. The Radio Producer will play a key role in developing, coordinating, and executing programming. This position requires project management skills, a passion for storytelling, and the ability to work collaboratively with on-air talent and technical staff to produce high-quality content.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Development: Plan, develop, and execute radio show and segments. Collaborate with on-air talent to create compelling and relevant content that aligns with the station’s brand and programming goals.

  • Production Coordination: Oversee the production process from concept to broadcast. This includes outreach, scheduling, coordinating interviews, booking guests, and managing the logistics of live and recorded shows.

  • Content Creation: Write and edit scripts, show rundowns, and promotional material. Ensure content is engaging, accurate, and adheres to the station’s editorial standards.

  • Technical Oversight: Work with technical staff to ensure smooth operation of broadcast equipment and systems. Address any technical issues that may arise during live broadcasts or recordings.

  • Audience Engagement: Develop strategies to enhance listener interaction and engagement. Monitor audience feedback and ratings to gauge the effectiveness of programming and make necessary adjustments.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other producers, hosts, reporters, and the technical team to ensure cohesive and high-quality programming. Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas for new content.

  • Compliance: Ensure all content complies with broadcasting regulations, copyright laws, and station policies. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to production.

  • Promotion: Assist in promoting station events, contests, and initiatives. Work with the marketing team to develop promotional strategies and materials.

Qualifications:

  • No Previous Experience Required: We are able to teach the skills required for this role.

  • Time-management: Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly and effectively

  • Adaptable: Ability to adapt to different situations and think on their feet when required 

  • Creativity: Strong creative abilities with a keen eye for detail and a passion for storytelling. Ability to develop engaging and original content

Non-essentials (assets)

  • Past experience as a producer in a radio or media environment is an asset. 

  • Educational background in Communications, Media Studies, Journalism, or a related field is an asset
