Volunteers are an active and integral part of the VAC team. This March Break, we're looking for students aged 14+ to assist during our March Break Camp as volunteer Junior Camp Counsellors!
Join the VAC’s team of dedicated Junior Camp Counsellors this Spring, and help us create a community where everyone's unique talents and perspectives are celebrated. With valuable leadership experience and the chance to make a positive impact on young artists, this volunteer opportunity is one you won't want to miss.
Junior Camp Counsellor - Main Tasks:
- Assist in implementing art activities for students aged 6-12 in a safe and supportive environment.
- Guide and encourage students in exploring various art forms, including painting, drawing, sculpting, crafts, and mixed media.
- Assist with setting up and organizing art supplies and materials for activities. Help maintain a clean and organized art studio, cleaning up after activities, and ensuring proper storage of materials.
- Provide support to students to help them develop their artistic skills and express their creativity.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of campers during art sessions, adhering to VAC guidelines and protocols.
- Collaborate with instructors to create a positive and inclusive atmosphere, fostering teamwork, respect, and cooperation among students.
- Assist in running and participating in games and activities
- Engage in positive and constructive communication with campers.
- Participate in training sessions as required.
- Be a positive role model for campers, exhibiting enthusiasm, creativity, and a passion for the arts.
As a volunteer at the VAC, you will:

Gain experience working with a non-profit organization.

Develop leadership skills in a dynamic and fun cultural environment.

Gain experience working with children and youth.
Volunteers will be needed during camp hours, which are Monday, March 16 to Friday, March 20 from 8:40 am to 4:15 pm. Volunteers may be asked to attend a training session prior to the camp start date.
